DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

DAY 1 – SOUTH COAST → DAMBULLA → SIGIRIYA

Your journey begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Kosgoda, Ahungalla, Bentota, or Induruwa. You will travel inland through scenic landscapes, villages, and reservoirs toward Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle.

Dambulla Cave Temple

Your first major stop is the Dambulla Cave Temple, one of the most important Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka. The cave complex features ancient Buddha statues and murals dating back over 2,000 years.

Visitors must dress modestly and remove shoes before entering.

Drive to Sigiriya

After Dambulla, continue to Sigiriya, passing rural villages and farmlands.

Overnight Stay in Sigiriya Area

Check in to your hotel near Sigiriya and enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by nature.

DAY 2 – SIGIRIYA ROCK → MINNERIYA SAFARI → RETURN

Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Early in the morning, climb the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic landmarks.

During the climb, you will see:

• Ancient water gardens
• Sigiriya frescoes
• The Mirror Wall
• Lion Platform
• Panoramic views from the summit

The climb is moderately challenging but rewarding.

Lunch Break (Optional)

After the climb, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (not included).

Minneriya National Park Safari

In the afternoon, head to Minneriya National Park for an exciting jeep safari. This park is famous for large elephant gatherings, especially during the dry season.

Wildlife sightings may include:

Return to South Coast

After the safari, begin the return journey to your hotel on the south coast, arriving late evening.
